Breaking news broadcasts move in a whole new direction
Posted Thursday, February 09, 2006 10:30:10 AM by Rose Martins

The ability to be one step ahead with breaking news alerts and broadcasts is what defines the success of a news broadcasting agency. There are no shortage of news broadcasting agencies - CNN, Msnbc, AP, NBC,  and NBC - just to name a few. news by sms

Most news broadcasting agencies have their own news reporters at the scene of every news item, but this is not always possible. In such cases, news broadcasting agencies rely on information from Reuters to broadcast as their breaking news headlines and reports, after all, no news broadcasting agency wants to be late when it comes to breaking news.

The internet has changed the face of global news broadcasting. It has provided the consumer with the power to demand and receive breaking news stories and updates with a click of the mouse. Newspapers and TV news broadcasts are taking a backseat to the internet news websites and breaking news flashes sent to their mobile media device of choice.

As president and CEO of  The Associated Press, Tom Curley, said, "the content comes to you; you don't have to come to the content. So, get ready for everything to be 'Googled,' 'deep-linked' or 'Tivo-ized. You have to let the content flow where the users want to go, and attach your brand — and maybe advertising and e-commerce — to those free-flowing 'atoms' of information."

Rice on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace
Posted Monday, October 16, 2006 7:08:42 AM by Blog57 Team
QUESTION: And joining us now is the Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, who comes to us from the Presidential retreat at Camp David. Secretary Rice, welcome back to Fox News Sunday. SECRETARY RICE: Good morning. Nice to be with you, Chris. QUESTION: Let's start with those sanctions that the UN Security Council imposed yesterday on North Korea. The resolution bans trade and weapons and luxury goods, but it does -- explicitly excludes the use of military force and it does not impose the kind of sweeping trade embargo that Japan wanted. Question: Do you really believe that preventing Kim Jong-Il from getting his cognac is going to stop his nuclear ambitions? SECRETARY RICE: Well, this is a regime that very much likes luxury for itself while it starves its own people. And so I think it's probably gotten their attention, but there's really much more to this story, Chris....

Why breaking from News was too much for Bennett
Posted Tuesday, September 19, 2006 3:26:45 PM by Blog57 Team
THE plot thickens. In a season of bizarre coaching appointments and disappointments, sacked Sydney Roosters coach Ricky Stuart was poised to move to Brisbane as Wayne Bennett's successor. That's certainly what the Roosters believe. Last week, following a dinner Stuart shared with Roosters directors at Nino's restaurant in Woollahra, they were convinced the premiership coach would make a move on Brisbane. Bennett was informed by the Roosters of the possible switch - a duplication of the Michael Hagan to Parramatta, Brian Smith to Newcastle swap - and reacted nonchalantly. At this point the Roosters were convinced they still had Bennett. The leak to the media of his planned move to Bondi Junction had angered him but not derailed him, despite reports otherwise....

Giannetti Cited for Breaking State Law With Election Materials

Maryland State Prosecutor Robert A. Rohrbaugh cited state Sen. John A. Giannetti Jr. (D-Prince George's) yesterday with violating state campaign law, saying the candidate distributed material without the required treasurer's authority line. Giannetti, who is engaged in a fierce primary race, said that he thinks his e-mails and Web site "were in compliance" with Maryland law and that they clearly said the "communication comes from John Giannetti and the committee to support John Giannetti." Still, he said, he is not contesting the citation because he "did not want this to linger on" before Tuesday's primary. ....

Breaking the bad news

When her partner, Mickey Barron, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, Dr. Rhonda Fishel accompanied her to the oncologist's office. As an experienced surgeon, Fishel was no stranger to the delivery of bad news. She was the one who jotted notes furiously as the doctor discussed treatment options, while Barron's mind struggled just to get past the word ''cancer.'' ''He was going on about treatments, and I was gone,'' Barron recalled. ''I was too stressed out.'' Four years later, when Fishel was diagnosed with a rare cancer called uterine sarcoma, it was Barron's turn to listen carefully as her partner sat numbly. ''I never understood what it felt like physically, until I had to go through it. It's like a pain in your chest,'' said Fishel, 51, who has reduced her hours as associate chief of surgery at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and director of its intensive care unit since being diagnosed and treated....
