Fraser Stoddart, a world-renowned expert in molecular nanotechnology, says the honor would allow him to be more influential in his field. Stoddart, who is Scottish and moved to U-C-L-A in 1997, says he would prefer that no one in the U-S address him as "Sir." "I embrace the informality of American, and particularly California, culture," says Stoddart. Copyright 2006 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
