| XFONE Reports First Quarter 2006 Results | | Posted Wednesday, May 17, 2006 3:39:06 PM by Blog57 Team | | JACKSON, Miss., May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XFONE, Inc. (Amex: XFN - News; "XFONE" or "the Company"), a provider of international voice and data communications services, announces its first quarter results for the three months ended March 31, 2006.
"2006 is off to a very strong start in all regards," stated Nissenson. "We continue to enjoy double and triple digit growth across all key metrics and are highly confident that this trend will continue as we progress through the year. Each of our geographical operations, Israel, the U.K. and the U.S., have delivered strong performance in the first quarter and appear to be gaining momentum. Fueling this momentum is successful execution of our growth-through-acquisition strategy -- a strategy that we intend to perpetuate in key global markets through the balance of the year."
Nissenson added, "We remain firmly on pace and believe that we will achieve our stated revenue guidance for the year. Currently tracking at an annualized revenue run-rate of nearly US$32 million, and after factoring the anticipated impact and timing of enhanced organic growth initiatives and targeted acquisitions, our forecasted objective of $36-$38 million appears to be right in line."

| | | Current news reports that computer technology is on the downward slide | | Posted Thursday, February 09, 2006 10:47:08 AM by Rose Martins | The latest news relating to technology and technological fields is that with the fall of technology and the dot-com wave, college undergraduates are now reconsidering computer science, Information Technology or engineering, as a career. A few years ago, graduates in these technological fields could bank on landing a great job straight out of college.
According to CRA researchers in their 2000-2001 survey of 215 doctoral degree-granting computer science departments. "Perhaps the decline in the technology industry is making computer science and engineering less alluring to new undergraduates."
This is not great news in terms of technology and technological careers. Students are now considering entering the fields of law, medicine and business instead of computer technology.
Universities and colleges that offer courses in Information Technology, covering a broad spectrum of computer technology, as an alternative to computer technology will now have to reconsider. According to the current technology news, these "overflow" courses will no longer be necessary.

| | | Sector Wrap: Market Processes Cisco News | | Posted Saturday, November 11, 2006 3:27:49 AM by Blog57 Team | | Technology bellwether Cisco Systems Inc. eased the minds of technology investors this week when it posted a plump first-quarter profit on Wednesday of $1.61 billion, up 28 percent from last year. Equally encouraging to investors may have been the company's outlook. Although Cisco's forecast was left unchanged, the company said it expected a strong second quarter, and projected sales growth of 24 percent to 25 percent over last year. Bullish investors sent shares of Cisco up to a new 52-week high of $27.44 on Thursday, and although a handful of chip makers are poised to benefit from an uptick in Cisco's business, the market seemed to brush off possible upside for chip makers. NetLogic, PMC-Sierra and Marvell Technology Group, all count Cisco as an important customer. And what's good for Cisco, is theoretically good for its suppliers.... | |
